The Cheat river festival takes place the first weekend in May of every year.  The Cheat River runs off of the Monongahela River in southwestern Pennsylvania. It flows for a short distance through southwestern Fayette County, Pennsylvania before joining the Monongahela River at Point Marion, Pennsylvania.
